If the modern fusion prospects are right, then Helium-3 mining will become the next trillion dollar industry. This would enable other space economic endavours like free-fall industry, space laboratories and power satellites as well as space habitats.

There will never be a "Helium-3 mining" industry regardless of whether modern fusion prospects are right or not since it's orders of magnitude cheaper to produce helium-3 on Earth rather than process billions of tons of regolith on the Moon

Thank you. That is what I've been thinking for the past couple of years.
As a matter of fact, one can see its been the driving idea of NASA's support policy for independent contractors since the start of the new millennium.

Roughly one would want to see the following:
1. Private contractors
2. Exploiting solar resources...???....Profit
3. Colonize with company employees first
4. Employees later demand independence
5. Meanwhile greater time spans and distance are traversed

The NASA policy is very thoughtful and prescient.

There are suggestions that they can be there. But there are no actual geology maping of the asteroids that found RE. There much wrok to do before even suggest mining.
