can anyone draw the ligand field scheme for this nickel complex? trying to learn how to draw these up from scratch and i could really use an example related to some of the other complexes im interested in. thanks :)

Dunno whether this is square planar or tetrahedral. I feel like with all the 5/6 membered rings, it's probably tetrahedral, so the ligand field scheme probably is the same as that of nickel tetracarbonyl. The amine/imine ligands should all behave the same as carbonyl, since they're also L-type.

Since each ligand very obviously is negatively charged and the molecule overall is neutral then it's Ni(II) and this complex is likely square planar.

I don't think each ligand is negatively charged. All of the nitrogens have 3 bonds to nonmetals, so they would be completely neutral, and just donate their lone pairs.
