I once stole NaOH pellets to clean my charred aluminum pressure cooker. The 0.25M NaOH started corroding through the bottom of the pressure cooker, especially when I heated it up. I had to throw it out.

I just didn't realize that pressure cookers are made from thick cast aluminum. The pot was still heavy just because it was large and thick, and therefore it didn't feel like it "practically floats". Apparently shaping steel is difficult, so pressure chambers for cooking are usually made with aluminum.

It's also because aluminum conducts heat MUCH better than steel. And it's cheaper.

Took a few syringes from work but I think that's about it. There's really no point in stealing chemicals because I could just use them at work for whatever I want.
