>>13850301>>13850590When you die, all of that material will return, eventually, to the environment, to the universe. But remember, there's nothing special about that material. So it would be unnecessary to specify that another life form has to be made out of the same material that you were made out of in order to be a continuation of you. The continuation of you might just as well be one or many life forms created from the material of the universe, regardless of whether or not any of that material ever found itself to be in some region of space that you consider to be "you". In this sense, you could say that 'you' aren't confined to a specific position, and can exist anywhere in space.
So then it's not right to say that you yourself have to die before you are reborn, since during your life, another life form can be born elsewhere, which is just as much you as you are unless you subscribe to supernatural theories of life or consciousness)
So now we have a description of you that isn't confined to a specific space, or a specific time.
Then really makes more sense, or in other words, it is less incorrect to say that you occupy all of time and space, and that when a life form is born anywhere in the universe, at any time, it is just a specific configuration of you. You, yourself are also just another ordinary configuration. The nature of that specific configuration is what leads to your personal experience of you. Why does this configuration result in such a rich experience, with thoughts and feelings? that's just the result of evolution selecting for those beneficial adaptations.
