In America, milk sometimes comes in bags. In elementary schools it used to be common (might still be) for milk to be served to students in single-serving square bags that you stab with a straw to drink. But Canadian bag milk isn't like that. In Canada they have bag milk sold by the liter. Apparently what they do is place the bag inside a pitcher, to support the bag upright after they cut it open to serve it.
I guess it works, but the whole thing seems quite... weird.
