>>13843818It's a bit hard to gauge china with anything, the culture there is massively about looking good rather than being good (same for the west desu but China takes it to the extreme).
There's also the fact that Chinese engineering suffers from this as well, on top of the culture having the issue (stuff is built with so many corners cut, the final plan looks like a circle).
So even if this is true which is a maybe, there also is the question of "is it actually usable?"
You also have Chinese media shilling anything that can fuel the ultranationalism that the state has been yearning for (think how patriotic the US gets when it frontiers technology like the space race or silicon valley). Really all three of these things tell a story that seems like the Chinese are doing what the Chinese do (care about face rather than progress), and have additional incentives to do it (ultranationalism, *appearing* like the technology flagship).
