math is much more interesting than computer science, even though it's harder

i wish i had majored in math (and just kept a github for jobs obviously)

No one will acknowledge your worth unless you are the top 1% in your cohort.

CS majors is perfectly designed for midwits like you since it is basically a modern trade.

It's not like the math degree opens up a different array of jobs. To do research you need a graduate degree so you can always do a math heavy degree in your graduate studies.

real CS should be just as interesting as math. i'm talking algorithms and their analysis, machine learning, computability, etc. i agree that programming itself isn't nearly as fun. i hate my embedded systems classes. using arcane APIs from a 400 page manual to drive a motor in a circuit that doesn't work because you put the jumper 1 pin to the left of where it should go is pain.

I studied math. Yes, it's harder than CS. But at higher levels it becomes boring and outside of university it's useless. Nobody's gonna hire you to write proofs.
