time to draw the death star!
if the deaths star is 160,000 meters wide, and 160,000 meters tall circle, and each deck is an average of 3 meters tall, that's 53,333 decks. each one being smaller than the center.
i'm drawing at 100 PPM (1 pixel = 1 centimeter) then the center of the death star would be 16,000,000 pixels wide by 16,000,000 pixels tall
that's 256,000,000,000,000 pixels per deck.
now: i'm going to be (hypothetically) fitting all of this on a single image. that means that, even though each deck gets progressively smaller than the one before it, i'll space it evenly so it fits on the image. so, for all intents and purposes: the death star is a cylinder. all 53,333 decks are going to fit on the same image, each in the center of a neat little square. the extra room is for annotations and stuff that don't fit.
so, the image will be 13,653,248,000,000 megapixels in size, with every deck laid out.
if 4000 x 3000 MB PNG photo taken by my iphone's Camera M app is just under 25 MB, that's about 2.1 MB per megapixel.
this is a 6,501,547 TB PNG image.
this would take 108,369 of the world's largest SSD (seagate 60 TB) to fit.
a transparent background and flat color would help for the size of this image, but i'm ambitious. i'm working on Fury Interceptor plans right now, but it's past the 4 MB limit.
