An argument I often hear from scientists is "muh god of gaps omg muh god of gaps." Despite obviously being an argument descended from the idea of lack of understanding itself, ergo being pottery, I do understand why they are so afraid of such a thing.
Science is entirely depended on other things, and things not known in science are often "things yet to be known." This example of human hubris is often completely destroy within a mathematical endeavor. Mathematicians are very well accustom to things, provably, not having a solution, and other such greatly disappointing facts which would naturally destroy this human naiveté which is often found in young "scientists." These scientists often remain within the secure space of dogma. These "men" are far too fragile for further mathematic endeavors, beyond the dogma and tool they taught each other (usually poorly) which were safe enough to have, which higher theoretical science is almost entirely comprised of. Allow me to show you the utter limitation of this god of gaps. See now the OP. This is the numerical trinity, I call it Reis' Numeric Trinity. You see once you close all the gaps, there is nothing left but god himself (abstract). This may be the closest we will come to seeing the divine visage of god, this is the lowest form of his divine elements in the numerical sense. These things were gifts from god, they simply are. God himself (abstract) may even have been propagated from these elements.
So I come to you with a new stone tablet of new laws:
Hitomi must exist.
The unit must exist.
Zero must exist.
Take a cartesian approach. Remove these ideas from you mind, even if your very mind it self may be dependent on them, remove them from your ego. Now exist like that.
Lain demonstrates that these things must exist for anything else to exist.
