Because of publish-or-perish, he, of course, used this paper as a reference in future papers, which just fucked things up downstream.
So, I left Academia with a completed MS I decided not to turn in. After all, if I had to use Sci-Hub to access articles, why should my Uni get my manuscript without having paid for those references?
Needless to say, my supervisor couldn't understand. Blew his mind. It happens.
