my gf getting a dog was the biggest blow ever to our 8 year relationship. Before her dog we could do anything together no matter what, now its we can do anything as long as it works out with my dog, even if it comes down to things I really wanted now its like a 1/3 split between me her and the dog. I wouldn't mind this dynamic with a few children but a dog makes me feel pretty fucking second rate

My mother actually raised me from the womb. The animals haven't done Jack shit but eat up my resources. At least my children will have future potential to carry the lineage, but raising an animal is purely a luxury unless it's trained to do something useful

Do we need to go further? Dogs are basically wolves, and there aren't much in Africa (2-3 species, that aren't gray wolf). That being said, even the population living in tierra del fuego had dogs that were pretty wild. During famine or ahrd time, they just left to feed themselves alone.

a cat would eat your dead body; a dog wouldn’t. Dogs are more loyal, they greet you at the door, and are generally more useful than cats (I’m talking about actual dogs, like German Shepherds, Huskies, etc not retarded toy breeds like pugs). I think that just about covers it. Dogs are much better than cats. But cats do have their place (I.e. roaming the property to catch rodents and the like)
