Based Steinhardt wrecks inflation in the outstanding pop-sci article. Everything he wrote ten years ago still stands today and had already been well known for more then ten years when he wrote it. Great article that everyone should read.

Also, eternal inflation is pretty much the MCM model for expanding time which solves the dark energy anomaly... except it doesn't have the 500 problems Steinhardt lists:

Maybe MCM expanding time has some other problems, however. People should work on it to find out like these other 10,000 people worked on Guth's idea.

Well no, its structure is clearly necessary, or it wouldn't be the way it is.

Its as posaible as a perfect circle, everything that acually exists is based on the binary of does/doesn't exist, so the minimum quantity of anything is 1. I believe this means reality is in all cases discrete at some level, however that level may be so tiny that discovery of levels 10 magnitudes up doesn't happen until 5 minutes before the end of time.
