How long do you study for /sci/? These 10 hour study with me videos are just a meme, right?

I have not watched the videos so I don't know if they take breaks, but (to me) 10 uninterrupted hours is cramming, not studying. I've never taken an exam where I've done more than study 3x 3hrs in the week before. (And I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the navy seals etc)

Then again, I'm not taking anatomy exams with mass rote memorization, so w/e. Will be curious if anyone else pulls these kinds of hours in one sitting.

I would also expect some fakery for 10 hours unless the video is specifically structured to make that impossible.

Yes. It feeds on the insecurity and FOMO of college/high school students, who idolise such people.

In reality what matters is how long you're in the "zone". Most people study very ineffectively. The concentrated, error correcting practice you get when you're in the zone is where most of what you remember comes from.

Of course they're a meme. If you're fully focused you can study, assuming you have to activate your grey cells, there's a biological limit of about 4 hours, that's assuming you didn't do anything else mentally taxing throughout the day. That's why most people can get through about 3 hours of true focused learning. Of course what these people do is stretch out these three hours over the course of say 10 hours, during which they study with varying degrees of focus

Where do you get the genetic 3 hours statement from? Sounds silly as there would naturally be genetic and trained variance.
I actually do study around 3 hours a day though. This week I studied 29 hours, so 4 hours a day average. This is only on math classes, so adding in my other 3/5 non-math classes, I studied 35 hours this week and have straight A's. I only go to about half of the non-math lectures, so studying as much as I did this week isn't unreasonable at all. 30+ hours a week of studying is what every undergraduate should do.
