If you want to get a working knowledge of the topic, I heavily suggest any of Schaum's outlines. They're expertly designed for both chemistry and different areas of mathematics; I have it for advanced calculus. I also have "General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry" schaum's outlines. You can likely find the pdfs online for free.

I still can't get why some people have to lift their pen several times to write a single word... We have a way to write almost everything without lifting the hand, yet, so many people spend their time writing in a very inefficient way.

I much prefer writing similarly to print. With cursive, I both find that the words aren't as consistent and that I have to go back to add dots or cross t's etc. If I really need to take notes quickly enough to where my handwriting speed will significantly handicap me, I'll simply type.
