I don't know this book, but if you want to study chemistry then try to understand everything. Ppl who say that it's just memorisation are just bad at chemistry.

Never used it, but chemistry: the central science by brown, lemay, burnstein, and the other guy is the golden standard of intro to chemistry texts.
Both it and a solution manual are on libgen (not for the latest version, but you don't need the latest version)
