Grant himself addressed this, he says that his videos are primarily to help people get more solid conceptual or intuitive understandings of topics, inspire people and get them interested, and help get people familiar with fields they maybe only heard of. But he admits and even stresses that he doesn't consider his videos to be real learning, which is done by actually sitting down, breaking out pencil and paper, and solving problems. His videos are more meant to be the mortar between bricks, not the bricks themselves (PatrickJMT comes to mind, hes saved many a high schooler).
So yes, for his kind of content, hes easily one of the best. Also manim is fuckin splendidly fun and low barrier to entry, probably as great a contribution as the videos themselves
