I just earned my Master degree in Molecular Biology.
I've got a solid background in CRISPR technology.

It's doesn't work likey that. CRISPR allows for "precise" generic engineering (if you don't count off target effects).

Modifying the whole mass of somatic cells is impossible with current technology. Harnessing the natural virome of the human body might be a window to allow system wide genetic engineering.

cirspr isn't mainly precise but cheap, there are some coping techniques to deal with the off targets and it seems to be moving along nicely. Got 30% of lolofolio in crispr tech. None of that gay shit, just CRSP, EDIT, NTLA and a bit of BEAM for the cope of base editing. I think CRSP is still king though followed by EDIT.

one thing that I found weird is that the gene editing process is referred to as CRISPR when it is the Cas protein with the accessory RNA that does the actual editing, and CRISPR just refers to a section of bacterial DNA. like why not call it Cas technology.

Learn programming, some math and then work in bioinformatics or work a normal software developer, Or get some other job that is as comfy as it can get and your freetime doing interesting things
