Why do doctors say this?
If i have any strange pain im supposed to just mask it with pain killers until it goes away instead of trying to figure out whats actually wrong?

I dunno.
Been having problems for a while.
Go in 2x a year (different doctors). They keep brushing it off and saying i am young and therefore healthy.
Is it because even if that's wrong, i'm walking around and talking and there it's not worth doing anything about

but so are you desu, if you just got a new pain yesterday and thats all you tell him, hes not actually gonna have anything to work off of for a diagnosis or treatment. seriously like, hes not a fucking magician, hes gonna be a human being just like you OP

Next time wait a bit if the pain is not that hard, then go to the doctor when it doesn't disappear or comes back after some time. also was it a gp or a specialist?

He's asking you twice because lot of people lie to doctors or are just straight up dumb. It's the same reason why tech support ask if your computer is connected to power or if you tried restarting it because even though it's obvious that still works enough times to make it worth asking everyone.

And second he was trying to fish you out as a druggie trying to get pain killers. Non-specific neck pain is the kind of thing that sets off their suspicion that you might be a junkie. If you admitted that you took an opioid "and it really helped a lot" he would know what your game is. Might seem silly but a lot of people are utterly retarded and would fall into this trap.
