Was that last girl trolling? She had everything right up until she drew the Earth's orbit around the Sun as a three-ringed infinity symbol. She even drew the orbit as a circle before that so it's like she started messing around with the interviewers. But she looked serious and her face became bright red while she looked flustered so maybe she started panicking with the heavy questioning. Also no one admitted they didn't know an answer and it was funny to see the Harvard graduates present their obviously bullshit answers in an intellectual sounding tone instead of admitting they didn't know or weren't exactly sure. Although maybe they thought they were giving right answers.

Funny enough the distance between earth and the sun does effect temperature one phenomena is called milankovitch cycles. Its caused by Saturn and Jupiter pull earth around causing the eccentricity of the orbit to become bigger or smaller this causes ice ages and shit. Don't tell global warming denialist this though they will start obsessing about it without knowing anything about it. Mix milankovitch cycles and other random fucked up shit in earths axis is how you get ice ages and other shit.

The Earth has seasons because the symmetry axis of the Earth's daily rotation is not aligned with the symmetry axis of the Earth's annual orbit around the sun.
