Somebody fill me in on this. Does vaccinating protect people around you, even just a little bit? My brother has a baby daughter on the way, and I am not welcome for Christmas unless i vaxx.

I am really sorry anon, this sucks, I am going through the same thing too.
My sister had a baby in July and I am not allowed to enter their home, hold the baby, or be within 6 feet. even if I'm asymptomatic, quarantine myself for two weeks prior, bring a negative test, and wear a mask.
also, I have a serious boyfriend of 2.5 years, and I'm not allowed to meet his grandparents (who raised him) without it.
I would never treat them like this... so it breaks my heart.
I thought that when it was proven true that you can still contract and spread it while "vaccinated," they would drop these restrictions, as that was the entire basis of the vaccination demand in the first place. I'm devastated and losing hope...

You can still get "infected" but since you have all those antibodies flowing through your body it deals with the virus much quicker which in this case it creates antibodies that target the spike protein antigen which would stop the virus from binding to our cells. So best case it deals with the virus quick enough so you won't start shedding the virus. Obviously your antibodies slowly go done (thats why booster shots are a thing) and their effectiveness wanes (they are still remembered by your type B cells but they take a while to get to full production) so the chances the virus is stopped depends on a bunch of factors. That's why you can still infect other people but the window at which you can is smaller or non existent. So it does but of course not 100%.

By the way, have you looked at the study data for Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J? They have terribly low data with a handful of deaths for at risk populations which are used to justify tens of millions of doses. I guess consistency is also not an earmark of shills. It is almost like they can't do anything right, every point they bring up viscerally destroys their whole shill argument because they act in bad faith incapable of realizing the holes they expose themselves to.

I looked up J&J and it was 43k participants on phase 3 I'm guessing its similar with the other vaccines. Do you just go onto the internet and lie? What goes through that smooth brain of yours. My guess is you probably saw some thread about it and just vomit out the number someone else said. Also the phase 1-2a had a total of 1200 participants. These aren't low numbers.

Yes. You have a greatly reduced chance of spreading the disease to them when you are vaccinated. That's a big part of why we do it.
