Now everybody could have told him that on top of your generic hater it's also gonna attract people who never grew out of their primary school bully phase but he got off surprisingly easy overall (despite it still cracking him) and in my opinion his persona worked out really well, conveying all the perks of child man without becoming painful to watch.
The problem was probably that he grew up really sheltered and never grew a thick skinn. Caretaker once said in the podcast that they were visiting a quiet artistic school and he his cartoonish Californian.
I don't like to see him go, specially for the reasons he stated but I can see his suffering and fully understand that he doesn't want to be a person of public interest anymore. People simply aren't meant to be famous and it's highly unatural.
