There is none, because male-pattern baldness is due to stress, environment, and hormones. Over-consumption, sedentary lifestyle, plastics, and other factors lead to it. Normally men would lose hair in their 40s-50s, now they lose it in their 20s-30s. Its the result of living in a death spiral of a society and /sci/ will seethe at the truth.

That's fair. But it's still a gene passed on the X-chromosome, and evidently makes the male miserable. Evolutionarily it may be advantageous to the group. Humans however no longer live in a species/group vs species/group setting.

I’m pretty sure this “baldness is passed by the X chromosomes” theory is all confirmation bias. Like most traits you can get it from either side, and it can be dominant or recessive. And since mothers are generally never bald (but her brothers the uncles might be) it comes as a shock when a man loses his hair when his father had a whole head of hair. But even in this cause it just as well could have come from the father in a recessive form. Women are also more likely to marry a bald guy if her own father was bald, so it further biases this because you can still (falsely) contribute it to the mother’s side in this situation

Sure the biochemical/regulatory pathways in which these single nucleotide polymorphisms behave aren't developed, however association analysis of SNPS and male pattern baldness greatly implicate mutations on the X-chromosome within males. Women are less likely to have pattern baldness due to having a rescue chromosome (an additional x-chromosome). Probabilistic models of SNPs and simple mendelian genetics support this theory as well.
