People in science act like their jobs won't be replaced by robots in the near future. Obviously trucking, fabrication, retail etc will soon be dominated by robots, but scientists think or pretend that they are special because it's some kind of "intellectual" discipline. But what do scientists accomplish that would be impossible for a highly intelligent ai with a humanoid body to accomplish? You could argue that there needs to be someone to program the robots, or small jobs like that. But this is a tiny number of jobs in exchange for an enormous industry of professionals.
