been alive doens't mean much biological stuff exist but thats all ,if you could create a robot with human like sentience than would you call the robot alive? it certainly has brain faction but isn't biological
the question to "are viruses alive" is how we describe what been alive is, if any piece of genetic information is describe as alive by modern science than you are no more alive than some random destroyed half genetic code on the floor
