I talked to my niece today about what she learned in her 5th Grade science class and she said they learned about inventions. One of the inventions she learned about was The Super Soaker.
Obviously I know the reason her school is teaching 10 year olds about The Super Soaker, so I asked her who invented it.
She said she forgot, but then said, "oh yea, it was a NASA scientist".

She didn't even learn that The Super Soaker was invented by a black man, the entire reason why The Super Soaker was selected as an invention. How do I make my niece more racially conscious so she doesn't forget which inventions are made by black men?
