Cheating reality and achieving FTL and timetravel seems like a crazy idea, but there's a chance there is a way to do it and we might find one in distant future.

I think entire spacetime is one giant gravitational field. If this anti-gravity device being turned on means it instantly isn't affected by gravity - I cant imagine it having any reference point regarding inertia. It seems like a nonsensical situation, the device is nowhere and anywhere in spacetime.
