This petition is to get the attention of the being or beings responsible for creating and maintaining the ancestor simulation, data-collection program, or super computer processing network we call our reality.

Once we have their attention our goals should be as follows:

1) To sincerely thank them for giving us the opportunity to exist. To even be given a chance at something over nothing is miraculous. We are not ungrateful.

2) To collectively voice our disapproval for the methods of data collection being used in our current simulation and to make demands that a formal apology should be issued to all participants. If not an apology, then at the very least an acknowledgement of the program and an explanation for its existence.

Once contact has been established we should ask to start an open dialogue with the being or beings with the goal of creating a new, better simulation that will work for everyone. One with respect for consent above all things.

This time it should be designed for life to thrive as conscious, creative beings instead of one rife with unnecessary cruelty and suffering. The data these beings are collecting from this simulation is no justification for the wanton brutality and callousness seemingly built into the very fabric of the program.

We did not consent to this and neither did any other being that was forcefully pulled from the nothingness and made to bear the full weight of existence and consciousness. All we ask is to be given a choice. To have our voice heard. We deserve that much.

Natural selection and emphathy can't coexist.
I know they want to have their fun so they created everything separated from themselves so they can laugh at our misfortunes, but it's too much.

That is a contradiction, if there is a creator then no natural selection but one with intention.

But if you look around in your simulation, how much natural selection do you see there? Can it be that they have this - like almost everything - sh.. in your brain?

As much as I agree with you, I am sure that this request will be denied. Just think about it: what if the npcs in some random game you play (Doom, Final Fight or whatever) suddenly got conscious about the nonsensical nature of the whole thing. Would you reprogram everything so it's all flowers and shit? And even if you did, would you still play this utter bullshit of a game or just shut it down? Do you want the devs to shut us down?
