All my classes were purely Math and CS. Nobody told me what to think. Nobody tried to persuade me to anything. The only time I recall discussing politics was when I asked a few friends who they're voting for and they said Trump.
The only reason I started moving away from the right is because for the first time in my life I was among people who were very different from me (unlike the homogeneous uni I came from). When you start living with people who are different from you and seeing what they're really like, instead of getting a manufactured propaganda image of them, you become more tolerant. That's why cities and colleges lean left, while rural areas lean right.
