Its hard cause its theory
If you applied what youre learning to something thats not on paper it'd be easier cause thats how humans are meant to learn
But its hard to visualize higher level maths beyond theory and a lot of science requires apparatuses that are big and expensive

Not every book is good at explaining things in a way that you're going to be able to understand easily. Check mathispower4u and see if watching videos where they break it down helps at all.

There's only so much novel understanding you can cram into your brain all at once. Often it actually feels like the first time you won't really get anything but lay a foundation that leads to getting it when trying again after a break.

Don't even bother. Just grind problems until you learn how to map input to output to get the right answer. You don't need to understand the problem to do this. Just grind. Then you vomit all this up on the midterm, get an A, then forget all of it.

Sometimes if I can't understand a method used in math lectures, I just find my own way to do it. Maybe you can't do it their way and so you should just think for yourself. So long as the method works and the answer is correct.
