Genetics and experiences dictate how we interact with each other, and I believe that thoughts, including problem solving skills, belong to the realm of communication, as I find them to be an abstract form of expression of some sort.
If this were true, the main goal should be to learn as many different views in a subject as possible. Even opposite views. "There are no enemies, it's all just misunderstanding. Learn to see it through their eyes, or else misunderstand the subject."
