University Life:
>pay thousands of dollars to attend, setting up crippling debt for years after graduation
>work every single day, at all hours, studying and completing labs or homework assignments
>projects assigned over every holiday break
>constantly grilled by professors and peers over accuracy and understanding of submissions, at least in good faith
>consider dropping out because my CFD code isn't within 2% error of benchmark case
>eternal bonding with classmates through shared misery, equivalent to prison cell mates, dreaming of what we will be doing once we get out of this hell

Employed Life:
>employed for 40 hrs/week, only really work for about 15 hrs, rest is boring meetings and killing time to fill the hours requirement
>remote work, live with parents and get family time i missed out on at school
>all academic and mathematic skills gone, reduced to calling python packages or buying commercial software that only requires you to build an input deck
>boss doesn't even review my code, wants summaries via memos with results attached, doesn't even read memos and expects me to walk him through the entire document during meetings
>coworkers are also remote and have no interest in interacting outside of working hours
>paid nearly 6 figures only 2 years out of school
>too bad I still have 30k in joe biden loans preventing me from using any money i earn despite already paying off 55k in private loans
>can't move out even if I wanted to because the cost to buy my own place has ballooned out of reach everywhere in the US

I don't know what I want out of life anymore. I used to do home science projects for fun and now nothing is worth doing unless I foot someone a bill for my hours. How do I get the spark back into my life /sci/?
