The issue is not with writing it down. You can write down the greek letter pi without any trouble, or you could write the sequence of symbols as in
>>13779394and claim to have done the job. The trouble is coming up with a *system* of notations for all the numbers you want to consider. Defining clearly such a system and explaining what pi is in it is much more difficult if you're not allowed to use infinities.
