It's not possible to make sense of "something came from nothing," i.e., "the universe was created by God and God was created by no one." The alternative to that is "God is eternal," but then God's believers turn around and claim that it's not possible that the universe could be eternal / eternally recurring, it must have began at some point so that God could have created it. In the end, all they have is "faith," which is to say, no reason for believing in God other than because it comforts them to do so.
