Also who cares OP, the general threat of global annihilation is too great to ever start a nuclear war. Noone wins from nuking anyone. If they didn't during the cold war, they wont ever (also, this is why the nuclear de-armment is so dangerous)

That's true as long as earthly life has a value to the people in charge. As soon as you have to deal with people who deeply believe life is just a test and according to its outcome you'll be rewarded or punished eternally, well, let's say it's not so clever if people like this have access to atomic bombs and are able to use them against nonbelievers, because they simply don't give a fuck about the earthly vale of tears.

The hypersonic glider is just a bonus. What's important from that test is that China is developing FOBS (Fractional Orbital Bombardment System), which would enable them to bypass the US ABM systems by striking the target from unsuspected angles. Given the fact once the missile is in LOE, It technically can have unlimited range, so they can take the longer route south, where the US is much more vulnerable

Nothing is important about the test. ABM systems were already incapable of defending against a nuclear strike. If you're going to modernise yiur nuclear delivery systems you might as well build hypersonic glide vehicles, but it's not a game changer.

Against Russia and China, that is correct. Both have too many missiles for America to intercept. However extant ABM systems would stand a decent chance of intercepting missiles from North Korea, since they have fewer to throw.
