The gist is, when a particle goes for extended periods and spans a light year or two, you can effectively treat the particle as particle-like from your inertial frame, even if it's worth treating it as wave-like from the slit's frame. Consequently the delayed-choice phenomenon doesn't quite behave as you'd expect over such long distances.

If it helps, consider that entangled particle pairs wouldn't cause cause issues for the same reason. Remember, entangled particles are effectively a single quantum system for the purpose of measurement. You can think of a single particle as being a system made up of where the particle "is" and where it "isn't". Even if you make a measurement (or a non-measurement: you expected to get bombarded, but didn't) information about the measurement can't travel faster than the speed of light due to quantum field dynamics, so causality isn't broken. Even if your shit's fucked in your inertial frame, it isn't necessarily so in the others yet.

Also, "delayed-choice" doesn't reverse the trajectory of anything, much less in your inertial frame. It's just a description of how information about complementary variables can change over time. If you think of your planet as a massive fucking measurement apparatus that measures a gamma ray wave with the energy of a sun, you'll get one (very) strong measurement, and then you'll never measure anything again, assuming the photon even "exists" in any measurable sense after what you did to it.

Shouldn't air molecules perform such measurement in normal experiment aswell? Considering you get the same result in vacuum
