You probably haven't seen the outline of computer science. Computer science is extreme just to achieve programming. Math, discrete math for programming, data structures and algorithms, hardware, software, operating system computer architecture, computational science, complex systems, computer graphics, human-computer interaction, intelligent systems, artificial intelligence, networking, many more, all just to achieve beginning programming, Scientific programming without the extreme prerequisites are just being ignorant on programming.
