Has he expanded on this yet? It seems like he just said "I'm quitting because I can't get the job done" and didn't elaborate on what he actually meant whatsoever.
If he meant that the Chinese state uses AI in daily life more, I agree, but that's mainly because they're a controlling surveillance state on a degree American libertarians can't even comprehend. Private tech in the USA like Nvidia, Google, Facebook, AMD, Amazon, and Intel are absolutely the forerunners in AI. I don't see what China has that's outcompeting them outside of a surveillance infrastructure.
