Utility, Expectancy, Value, Gamma, Delay
Utility is how much you want to get it done, Expectancy is confidence you can get it done, Value is the importance (or enjoyment) of the task, Gamma is "procrastination factor" (mostly personality, but you can control environmental factors like distraction, eg. turn off internet for an hour), Delay is time until deadline (if any).
Most advice is about setting your own deadlines, but I know mine aren't "real" and don't take them seriously, so most of my success has come from increasing value (ideally by picking more meaningful work in the first place, but failing that, remembering why you're doing the task in the first place -- "Discipline is remembering what you want") and reducing distraction (ideally, get to work as soon as you wake up -- you can always goof off later).
