We need to do desalinization of some form to prevent the entirety of southwest fleeing to other states to kill their water tables off as well.

I would prefer people in coastal states to stay where they are, and the people who live in neighboring states to stay there as well by having coastal converted water to be pumped to their homes.

Why start acting this defensive at a mere question about basic foresight? Is it not better to prepare for easily predictable consequences?
