if its because of the way our eyes work, and you cant use a camera because of where everything is and how that blocks the view - and if by the perspective of the board "with slits" it would be the first image - then could you not just put the light really far away
if you put it far away enough that if you took away the board and looked at it, you could capture an image of how the light hits/reflects off of the second board in the small amount of time there would be before the last bit of light travels from the source to the board?
this is how stars work right?
