because integrals are not a required thing to know for 99 percent of the world? the average man isn't designing rockets hell the average man doesn't even touch the materials that they use on a rocket. and even then we've already gone to space. everyone doesn't need to know something for one to do it.

There is no point in learning how to integrate functions if you don't need it for your job. If you Fucking Love Science™ and you want to learn about it as a hobby you can go ahead and learn elementary calculus and physics or whatever. But why would a lawyer need to know much about calculus? And you're gonna need that lawyer when your dumb rocket kills someone in a freak accident.

Most people in "STEM" can't solve an integral even if they managed to force their way past some introductory calculus classes. Just look at the typical bio roastie, code monkey or doctor.

Realistically only people who actually keep having to use calculus later down the line know calculus.

i fucking hate people that think they are geniuses because they can solve undergrad calculus. the concepts behind it are extremely simple and the rest is just a matter of rote memorizing integration rules and knowing when to use them
