Do other physics grad students struggle this hard with stat mech (grad level) ? Like everytime I siy down and try to with one of those nightmarish derivations it gives me an identity crisis.

If my main interest is QFT (QCD specifically), will stat mech even be that important or should I stop bitching and nolife it
