I think you're confused. The mRNA vaccines cause cells to produce spike proteins, which reach the blood stream within 24 hours of injection. The body responds to the spike proteins by teaching the adaptive immune system to generate antibodies which can bind to the spike proteins. It takes about two weeks for this to happen, and spike proteins continue to circulate for about the same amount of time.
