I go to a community college in New York, and there's way more guys than girls here. Why are studies saying there's more women in college? wtf is this cope? Everyone here is around my age too (18-21).. Are there more guys because it's a community college??

its actually pretty funny how skewed it is
im a tranny in college and as a result got put in non gendered housing (i have both male and female neighbors) but there's like a full 2 hallways worth of women and like 0.75 a hallway of men on my floor

At my university there are apparently slighlty more women than men overall (52% women I believe). Sounds about right considering that even in my supposedly "male dominated" department of mathematics and computer science the amount of women is almost exactly equal to that of men. Would fit your theory and >>13732913 considering that it's a rather prestigious uni in my country and a very prestigous department in terms of pure math research. I've heard multiple times now that the male proportion is a lot higher in less prestigious institutions, especially our country's equivalent to community colleges if you can call it that, even though I'm obviously not from the US.

Yeah the bias quite crazy. The department has been receiving tons of money from the government for their research, officially they are using almost all of that to fund supposedly promising future researchers. One of the first things explicitly mentioned when actually trying to apply for such a scholarship is that it is reserved exclusively for immigrants, disabled people and women. It's such a joke.

Higher tier unis like Ivy Leagues are more equal.
For what it's worth I'm a non-American at an average uni and the ratio here is 68:32 females
