I think it has to do with several factors, ofc the increase temperature makes it easier for lava to make it to the surface, but I Believe that this factor is more minimal. What might have a bigger impact is the general increased amount of energy and heat that affects our planets gravity(on a very small scale). Gravity for example get slightly stronger, and pulls the tectonic plates slightly stronger towards the core, this essentially creates more pressure within the planet.
TL;DR
Drill a hole into an oreo. Bottom part resembles earths core, top part the crust. Now squish the oreo(increased gravity), and its filling will escape through the hole.
I don't know the numbers for that but it'd make sense in terms if you consider how much "weight" the plates have and that just a minimal change of gravitational amount combined with slightly increased surface temperature could affect the tectonics and volcanic regions just enough to make them erupt.
