Hard to say. There were reports about loss of brain matter and ~10-point drops in IQ, but I'm still waiting to hear from the people who say IQ isn't a legitimate scientific metric. For some strange reason, they seem to have gone MIA when those long-COVID effects were making the headlines.

Loss of smell/taste means you can eat cheaply. A classmate at university ate almost nothing but cheap Totino's frozen pizzas. He lacked the ability to taste or smell anything so he never bothered to buy high quality food.

I just don't want to lose my sense of smell or taste. I am VERY unlikely to sustain serious damage from it, but no one ever gives real numbers about that smell and taste shit.

I'm not the healthiest guy and I'm unvaxed.
I got a "flu" but without much of a snotty nose and my lungs felt like they were on fire. Lasted about 3 days.
Apart from the burning chest, it was a very mild flu, then it was gone

Not sure about that, anon. I know a couple who are young and healthy, and both are now without smell. They could be crazy flukes, but it doesn't help ease my worrying.

College kids will go with whatever is easiest. He could fill his freezer full of those pizzas and not have to go shopping again for a month. Also they packed a big calorie punch, which veggies mostly don't.

over at r/covid19positive, there's plenty of anecdotes about long haulers and the weird things they still experience 1+ year after being infected

and anecdotally, my girlfriend developed a weird as fuck rash after covid that hasn't cleared up no matter what she tries (we're not sure if it is covid related but she has never suffered from it, and it happens right after she "got better") and one of my friends still has bad brain fog a year later.
