It's called "low latency inhibition." When your latency inhibition is too poor to handle the amount of information you're exposed to, your brain starts to break down, which usually manifests as the paranoid feelings associated with that kind of schizophrenia.
It's a cycle that feeds itself - your inability to, at a level more fundamental than conscious, filter out "bullshit" leads you to focus on the paranoia-triggering ideas, which causes further stress and even more breakdown of your latency inhibition.
I like to imagine that you can rationally take yourself out of the cycle if you catch it early enough, but I don't know if you can repair the damage done once it starts.
