I'm not just talking about women, I mean seeing all of life as an adventure. A romantic senses a grand narrative, everywhere he sees purpose, beauty, and meaning.
But when you feel like you can't take part in it, that all of that is occurring without you, it's a terrible type of suffering. All of that beauty becomes tragedy.
I think of the world as an ugly place now.
It's a bleak outlook, but it's one that doesn't sting anymore.
