Leaf here,
I need help figuring out the best strategy for transferring universities.
I am currently in my 2nd year of biomedical engineering at a leaf university and I want to transfer into engineering (either electrical or mechanical) at UWO (University of Western Ontario). I would prefer to transfer into first year as it’s less competitive to transfer into.
Here are my stats:
>I had a 95 average in high school. I won some awards and did some extracurriculars.
>I did poorly in first year. I had a 70 average and dropped a few courses.
>I’m doing well in second year but only taking electives + classes I dropped. A mid to high 70s average after fall semester and an average in the 80s after winter semester is very possible.
>My dad became disabled during my first year which caused a bunch of problems at home. Maybe I could use this to my advantage when transferring.
>I have a guaranteed engineering internship this summer.
I’ve already spoken to admissions and they explained the transfer process to me.
What are some viable strategies for transferring into UWO engineering with stats like mine? I’m willing to do whatever it takes.
