Osteopathic and medical doctors have the same licensing exams and residency requirements osteopathic schools just have different histories and some teach massage therapy. A DO is as qualified to manage patients in a hospital or family practice setting as an MD. My internist is a DO for example and does not prescribe alternative medicines at all. Not to say this person isn't a crank, but there is little relationship between the type of med school and the crank factor. A DO is not like a chiropractor or naturopath.
